Le Chateau is a 19th century French Country House. Situated on the edge of a pretty circulade hilltop village with stunning views of the Pyrenees and Corbieres whilst the vineyards and sunflowers are dotted in the foreground on gently rolling hills.

Sally Crocker has lovingly restored this character home maintaining the cosy informal atmosphere.

Step inside


Just inside the large double fronted entrance there are further double elegant antique glass panelled doors leading to a beautiful tiled entrance hall with further antique glass doors at the end with a view to the garden beyond. Inside the hallway there is a wealth of restored panelling including an onyx font.
Leading off the entrance hall is a small w/c with handbasin and a spacious utility room.

Heart of the Home


The heart of the home of Le Chateau is the spacious welcoming family kitchen. Boasting a four oven gas fired cream Aga, walk in pantry with shelving and masses of storage space. An antique glass fronted china cabinet reaches to the high ceiling. Hand built wooden cabinets and window seats make this kitchen the perfect place to perch.

Elegant Dining Room



An elegant and panelled room facing South with an interconnecting door to the Sitting Room. Marble fireplace and window ledges with ornate original floor tiles.

Sitting Room with Godin woodburning stove


Cosy and informal with a beautiful Godin wood burning stove in spacious open fireplace with over mantle. Original floor tiling. Double windows with wooden window seats. Overlooking the garden and pool.

Beautiful Stairway


A magnificent Louis-Philippe style 1.2m wide marble staircase is one of the many attractive original features of this property. An elegant wooden banister and black and gold cast-iron balustrade go all the way up to the top floor. Wooden panelling runs all the way to the first floor. Serious 'WOW' factor.

Spacious Corridors


Gorgeous ornate original tiles together with wooden panelling combine to make this handsome landing a room in itself. At the end of the corridor is a large window south facing with stunning views of the vineyards and mountains.

The Garden Bedroom has double windows facing over the garden and pool. This room also has an interconnecting door to the stairs leading to the apartment. Two double built in wardrobes and stripped floorboards make this a lovely cool north facing room.

Family Bathroom


Seriously character bathroom to dream in. Double windows facing over the gardens with interconnecting door into master bedroom shower room. Also entered from the main corridor. Handsome black marble fireplace and original wooden flooring. Fitted with elegant large handbasin/wc and bath with over shower.

Swimming Pool and Garden



In the private walled garden there is a magnificent 10m x 5m salt filtration swimming pool with easy access steps for all ages and abilities. The sheltered garden has an abundance of fig trees, roses, lavender, wild flowers and thyme.
